-
A California Driver’s License or Identification Card
-
A U.S. Driver’s License or ID issued by any other U.S. state
-
A U.S. Passport
-
A Canadian or Mexican Driver’s License issued by an authorized public agency
-
A Tribal ID Card issued by a federally recognized tribal government (must include a photo, description, signature, and identifying number)
-
A U.S. Military ID with a photo, personal description, signature, and identifying number
-
A California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation Inmate ID (only valid if the inmate is currently in custody)
-
An Employee ID Card issued by a California state, county, or city government office (must include a photo, description, signature, and identifying number)

A Valid Consular ID or Foreign Passport with a photo, personal description, signature, and identifying number
Note: Many consular IDs—especially from Mexico—may not meet these requirements due to missing identifying details.
